OLIVER MA
Ma Fu Chi Oliver (born January 21, 1999), known professionally as Oliver Ma, is a Chinese-Filipino street performer in Hong Kong. Recognized for his musical versatility, artistic reinventions, English-singing abilities & activism, he is a prominent cultural figure in the city.
Ma began busking professionally at age 18 after he graduated from high school in 2017. He released his 1st cover collection "...Ready For It?" with 3 remixes, namely the "studio," "studio acapella" and "acoustic" versions, in 2019. He also released 21 self-directed music videos as a visual element to accompany each cover on the studio version of the record throughout 2019 and 2020. Following political and media scrutiny, he then forwent his "colourful" and "produced" image for a more "dark" and "stripped down" image, which inspired the "street live" version of his 1st cover collection "...Ready For It?" as well as his 2nd and 3rd for "Fall" and "Moonlight" in 2021.
Get to know Oliver Ma in his autobiography where he talks about his journey to becoming the inspiring and creative soul he is now.
